Flavour of the Month!

My work featured in two publications in May 2014…

'Pratiques Des Arts', France's most popular art magazine carried a 6 page article about me in their April/May edition. Following an initial approach by the editor, in November 2013 I was visited by the magazine's British resident photo-journalist, Stephanie Portal. Stephanie spent an entire day with me during which time we discussed my work, technique and sources of inspiration in great detail. She also took numerous photographs of me working on a picture and of my array of coloured pencils and other materials. This resulted in a very comprehensive, lavishly illustrated article (in French!) showing a diverse selection of my pictures.

Also, I was the featured artist in the May edition of lifestyle magazine 'Welsh Coastal Life'. This article is spread over four pages and includes 8 images with a detailed description of each and general editorial about my life as a professional artist, my work, methods and inspiration.

Both these articles were unsolicited and arose out of the blue so it's very gratifying to know that my work is attracting attention…even beyond these shores!

Exhibition

In July 2014 I exhibited with Cowbridge-based seascape artist, Clive Gould www.welshcoastalart.co.uk at Art Matter’s White Lion Street Gallery in Tenby. The show entitled ‘Shared Vision’ featured entirely new work. We also exhibited together in a smaller show during August and September 2015 at Carningli Centre in Newport, Pembrokeshire.

'The Artist'

In 2013 I was commissioned by ‘The Artist’ magazine to produce a ‘step-by-step’ article which appeared in the June 2013 issue of the magazine. I chose to create another picture in my pebbles series. This was entitled ‘Pebbles and Seashells on Little Haven Beach’. The article was published to coincide with Derwent extending their range of Coloursoft pencils and the entire picture was rendered in these particular pencils.

'The Artist’ commissioned a further ‘step-by-step’ article for their April 2015 issue and this featured a landscape painting of a view towards Carnllidi and Clegyr Boia on the St Davids Peninsula.
